Zuluglamour’s funeral details revealed!
UKHOZI FM contributor Zamaweza “Zuluglamour” Mthalane’s funeral details have been revealed.
Zuluglamour will be laid to rest at her rural home at Efaye Village in Emabomvini near KwaMaphumulo, northern KZN on Sunday, 16 March.
The 35-year-old presenter passed away on Sunday, 9 March at Dr Pixley kaSeme Memorial Hospital in Durban after losing a brief battle with meningitis.
She was a contributor to Ukhozi FM’s Sigiya Ngengoma maskandi show, presented by Tshatha Ngobe and Bingelela Mpanza.
Her feature, Ezisegudwini, provided the latest updates on maskandi music every Saturday.
She launched this feature in 2024.
Zuluglamour was a popular MC for traditional festivals such as the Impucuzeko Maskandi Festival, Ingoma kaZwelonke, and the Umbuso Wamaciko Maskandi Festival.
Additionally, she served as the presenter for the Umbuso Wamaciko podcast.
Her brother Sphiwe Mthalane confirmed to Daily Sun that his younger sister will be laid to rest on Sunday.
“Her memorial service will be held at Efaye community hall on Friday, 14 March, and her funeral service will take place at our homestead on Sunday, starting at 9am,” he said.
Sphiwe said they’re still struggling to accept that Zuluglamour has passed away, adding that as a family they’re grateful for the prayers and messages of support.
In just about five months, Zuluglamour became the second Ukhozi FM contributor to succumb to a brief battle with meningitis.
In November 2024, Nondumiso Shazi (33), who was a presenter of a Sunday school show, Vumelani Abantwana Beze Kimi, passed away after losing a brief battle with meningitis after she joined the station in 2023.
She battled meningitis for about a month before she passed away at Eddington Hospital in Durban.
In 2024 alone, Ukhozi FM lost three presenters.
Bheka “Beekay” Mchunu succumbed to a prolonged illness, Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule battled lung cancer, and Nondumiso Shazi reportedly died after struggling with headaches.
Producer Bonga Ndaba’s cause of death was not disclosed.
Additionally, in 2023, presenter and producer Irvin Sihlophe lost his battle against a stroke.
