TikTok star Alphi lands TV gig!

SIPHO “Alphi” Mkhwanazi’s star continues to shine.

From starting as a corporate employee to becoming one of Mzansi’s top TikTok stars, Alphi is now stepping into a new role as a TV host.

The award-winning content creator has landed a major TV gig as host of the new show, Gospel Superstar, which will air on e.tv.

The 32-year-old recently took to social media to share the exciting news with his fans.

Speaking to Daily Sun, the Joburg-based event MC revealed that content creation has been instrumental in shaping his career.

“When I got the call from the team, I was absolutely beside myself. This is such an incredible opportunity for me and it’s completely in line with my brand and my passion for gospel music. It’s an honour to be the first host of something so huge. I can’t express how grateful I am for this,” said Alphi.

Talking about his journey from social media to mainstream media, Alphi emphasised the importance of authenticity and consistency in content creation.

“I say this everywhere I go; authenticity and consistency have become the strongest currency. Social media has allowed us to build an audience and create a tribe of individuals who believe in our craft and support our work.

“I try to be intentional with what I do on social media because I know that anyone could be watching and that one person could open a door that changes my life forever, as we see today,” he said.

Asked about challenges in transitioning from content creation to mainstream TV, Alphi admitted that imposter syndrome has been a major hurdle.

“Imposter syndrome is one of the biggest challenges I face. Content creation and mainstream media are very different platforms that require unique approaches.

“I constantly remind myself that I’m the perfect person for the job and my social media efforts have paved the way for the opportunities I’ve received in mainstream media. I continuously sharpen my skills and stay ahead of the curve,” he said.

Alphi also offered valuable advice for aspiring content creators looking to break into the entertainment industry.

“I’ve written articles providing tips on how to strategically use platforms to secure work. It’s about positioning yourself smartly so that the right people see you.

“While entertaining your audience, it’s crucial to showcase your skills and offerings. When done strategically, more opportunities will come your way,” he added.
