The actress, who underwent the surgery in January, expressed satisfaction with the results.
Gugu Gumede said earlier this year that she lost over 20 kg in two months following gastric sleeve surgery, which she opted for to control her food portions.
Speaking to the media, Gugu Gumede said that while surgery worked for her, it’s not the only solution, as everyone’s lifestyle and needs are different.
“I wanted to get the gastric sleeve because I wanted to limit the amount of food that I was eating. Honestly, I wanted the portion control to be there.
“I don’t want to say to people that surgery is the only option because we have different things going on in our lives, and we have different lifestyles,” she told The Citizen.

However, in 2015, she joined South Africa’s most-watched drama series, Uzalo. Gugu Gumede was cast as MaMlando.
