Tragic Loss of Two Sisters in Durban

Rest in Power, Queens
Tragic Loss of Two Sisters in Durban
The nation mourns the devastating loss of two young women, Nokwanda Klaas (27) and Ayanda Klaas (24), who were brutally murdered in Umbilo, Durban, on March 9, 2025.

According to reports, the sisters were on their way home from work when they became victims of a violent crime. They were allegedly robbed and thrown out of a moving taxi, suffering severe injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Nokwanda tragically passed away on the same day, while Ayanda succumbed to her injuries the following day.

As of now, no arrests have been made, leaving their loved ones and the broader community in grief and anger.

A Call for Justice
The senseless killing of Nokwanda and Ayanda adds to the growing crisis of gender-based violence (GBV) and femicide in South Africa. Their deaths are yet another painful reminder of the urgent need for action against these horrific crimes.

How many more women must lose their lives before GBV and femicide are declared a national disaster? How long will we wait for concrete action to ensure the safety of women and girls in our country?

Join the Movement for Change
We cannot remain silent in the face of such brutality. We urge all South Africans to take a stand by signing our petition and joining a peaceful demonstration at the Union Buildings on April 11, 2025. Together, we demand that our leaders prioritize the fight against GBV and implement effective measures to protect women.

Your voice matters. Let’s honor Nokwanda and Ayanda by fighting for a safer future. Sign the petition now:
