Tragic Loss: Glenwood High School Student Kaden Moodley Passes Away During Hockey Warm-Up

The Glenwood High School community is mourning the untimely death of 15-year-old Kaden Moodley, a Grade 10 pupil who tragically collapsed during his hockey warm-up session. Kaden, known for his passion for sports and vibrant personality, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, leaving his family, friends, and school in shock.

Kaden’s father, Thevan Moodley, expressed his profound grief, describing the loss of his son as every parent’s worst nightmare. Speaking emotionally, he shared that Kaden’s death has left the family shattered, especially his twin brother, Kellen, who is struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss of his sibling and best friend.

Thevan Moodley explained that Kaden was preparing for a hockey match when the incident occurred. According to reports, Kaden was warming up by kicking a ball and then informed his team that they needed a substitute for the match. Moments later, he collapsed on the field, sending shockwaves through the team and spectators.

After receiving the distressing news, Kaden’s parents rushed to the school, only to find first responders desperately trying to resuscitate their son. “They worked on him for more than 30 minutes,” Thevan recalled. “They did everything they could, but unfortunately, there was nothing more that could be done.”

Kaden was one of the youngest in the Moodley family, with two older sisters and his twin brother, Kellen. Thevan described the close bond shared by the family, highlighting how inseparable the twins were. “Our family is very close-knit. This is something no parent should ever have to go through,” he said.

The Moodley family is currently awaiting the post-mortem results to determine the cause of Kaden’s sudden collapse. As they navigate this painful time, they are making arrangements for his funeral, which they hope to hold on Friday.

Meanwhile, tributes have been pouring in from classmates, teachers, and the wider Glenwood High School community. Many have shared heartfelt messages, expressing their condolences and honoring Kaden’s love for sports and his positive impact on those around him. His passing has left a void that will be difficult to fill, especially among his peers and teammates who witnessed the tragedy firsthand.

The tragic loss of Kaden Moodley serves as a painful reminder of the fragility of life. His family, friends, and the entire Glenwood community are left grappling with sorrow as they remember a bright young boy whose life was cut short far too soon.

Kaden will be remembered for his passion, his kindness, and his deep love for sports. His memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

The community continues to rally around the Moodley family, offering prayers and support during this incredibly difficult time.
