The Millions Pitso Pocketed In His Nine Months At Al Ahly Will Shock You

Despite being South Africa’s most decorated coach, former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane might as well be South Africa’s riches coach after he pocketed over R10m in the last Nine months since he joined Egyptian giants Al Ahly in October last year.

Reports emerging suggests that Mosimane have received just over R7 million rands after managing to win the CAF Champions League final last weekend at the expense of Kaizer Chiefs whom they beat 3-0.

According to Soccer Laduma, now that Mosimane has won the African biggest club competition two times in a row, that simply means he has received two bonuses in a space of Nine months, they is just over R14 million.

“For one, by beating Kaizer Chiefs in the final in Casablanca on Sunday, Mosimane walked away with a staggering $480 000 (±R7.1m) which is the standard bonus given to Ahly coaches for winning the continental gong. Given that he has now won the competitions in two consecutive occasions, essentially the 56-year-old has pocketed ±R14m in just nine months! This is in addition to the reported $120 000 (±R1.8m) a month salary that the former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor is believed to be earning at the Red Eagles,” soccer Laduma reports.

Mosimane has won more than ten trophiea through his coaching career, make that 17 trophies to be exact, with three CAF Champions League trophies in the mix, no other coach in South Africa has ever achieved what the former Bafana Bafana coach has achieved.

Some people are saying the former SuperSport United coach would do well if he gets a chance to coach in Europe since he has earned the stripes and his track record speaks volume.

The 56 year old had a terrible spell with South African senior men’s team and he got sacked before his contract ran out, surely by now the Administration of the South African Football Association is looking at him and wish they had kept him a bit longer.
