“The majority waved white handkerchiefs to let Ferguson rest in peace.”
A secret service was held today for a Botswana-based actor and television personality, Shona Ferguson. The service was held in Ruimsig in Johannesburg. Aaron Arthur ‘Shona’ Ferguson, passed away on Friday this past week from Netcare Milpark Private Hospital.
On July 30 the news broke that he was no longer in the world, but his death was linked to Covid-19.
The internationally acclaimed veteran has made a name for himself in the daily television drama Generations starring ‘Ace’. Then in April 2006 he excelled in the Venda soapie Muvhango starring ‘Leabua’ in which he made a name for himself even more but left in 2007.
He did not hesitate as the talent said that his mother and father and his wife Connie, worked together to form Ferguson films. Even then they released a series of shows, some of which are Rockville, The gift, Blood The Queen and just released last year Kings of Joburg.
The recent good performance was inspired by the two-time Golden Horn (award) award for Best Achievement for Best Performing in Made for TV Movie and Soapie.
He is buried in the Fourways cemetery in Johannesburg. As the requirements of COVID-19 are based on the fact that only family and relatives are allowed to attend. He leaves behind his 20-year-old wife, daughter Alicia Angel and granddaughter.
The nation says it is thundering past but leaving a trail, that trail is the legacy of a skill that he has passed on to many, even paving the way for those who were looking for a bowl in the dark in this career.
“In a nutshell we say: Sleep in Peace Hero !!”
