The Adulting actress Londeka Sishi joins etvScandal

Despite facing initial challenges in pursuing her passion for acting, Sishi persevered. “I come from a strict family where a career in acting didn’t seem like a viable option. After a while of wanting to get into this space and getting rejected at auditions, I kind of gave up on it and focused on my corporate career,” she shares.

However, a chance encounter with a colleague and an open call posted on Instagram by Tshedza Pictures for a new show reignited Sishi’s dreams. “My colleague asked me to try my luck, and because I’ve always had a passion and love for acting, I knew I had to go for it,” she explains.

Sishi’s persistence paid off, and after a series of callbacks and a trip to Johannesburg, she landed the role that would change the trajectory of her career. “I recorded a self-tape and submitted it, I got a call back shortly after that. There was a bit of back and forth after driving up to Joburg, I got the role,” she recounts.

The transition to her new acting career has been nothing short of a whirlwind for Sishi. “The past year has been an instant overwhelming change that seemed surreal,” she admits. As the middle child among six siblings, Sishi describes herself as a more reserved child who preferred to keep to herself. However, her great-great-grandmother, who played a pivotal role in her upbringing, was instrumental in nurturing her creative side.
