Job Description:
Tharisa’s Engineering Learnership Programme (Reference Number: LNS006) is a three-year artisan training initiative. The programme will focus on developing the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to qualify as an artisan in the mining industry.
Available Learnership Disciplines:
- Fitter (LNS006-F)
- Electrician (LNS006-E)
- Auto-Electrician (LNS006-AE)
Successful candidates will participate in a blend of theoretical classroom instruction and structured on-the-job training. The programme will equip learners with the ability to perform technical tasks relevant to their trade and industry standards. Upon completion, learners will be eligible to undertake trade tests that are essential for qualifying as certified artisans in South Africa.

Ideal Candidate:
To be considered for the Tharisa Engineering Learnership Programme, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must possess an N2 Certificate with all four subjects relevant to the specific trade or a Technical Grade 12 certificate with:
- Mathematics
- Physical Science
- Relevant trade theory subjects
- Must be medically fit for the working environment
- Must reside in local communities/labour sending areas
- Must be available for full-time participation in the learnership programme
- Applicants must have a passion for engineering, mining, and artisan work
- Willingness to comply with all health, safety, and operational requirements of a mining environment

Role Responsibility:
During the course of the three-year learnership, selected candidates will:
- Attend theoretical training modules related to their specific discipline

- Demonstrate progress through continuous assessments and evaluations
- Work as part of a team to support daily operations within their assigned engineering section
