Renowned for timeless hits such as *Ke Latlhile Bokinza* and *Robala ka Khotso*, Moholo had recently been hospitalized after falling ill during a pre-album launch tour in Botswana. In a statement from the Molokoane family, his passing was shared with his fans:
“It is with great sadness that we inform you, on behalf of the Molokoane family, that our beloved legend, Solly Moholo, has passed on.” The statement went on to highlight his hospitalization following his illness, which tragically led to his passing.

Mphoza Mashabela, Provincial Chairperson of the Limpopo Artists Movement (LAM), expressed deep sorrow over the loss, stating, “We lost Oleseng Shuping, Kenny Makweng, and now Solly Moholo. I’m heartbroken.” Mashabela also praised Moholo’s pivotal role in the Sione music genre, which had gained significant popularity, especially in Limpopo.
Moholo had been slated to perform as a guest artist at the Limpopo Legends Awards, an event that would have celebrated his profound impact on South Africa’s gospel music landscape.
