Skeem Saam’s Lehasa turns new leaf!

ACTOR Cedric Fourie has captured viewers with his representation of Lehasa in the popular SABC1’s drama series Skeem Saam.

The 34-year-old Cedric, who’s known for his intense performances and complex character, said his character is set to take a dramatic turn in the upcoming episodes.

Cedric told Daily Sun Lehasa will soon be faced with critical decisions.

“I’m always looking forward to the next phase of Lehasa’s life and what the writers have in store for him. I really believe he’s one characters that a lot can be done with on the show. There’s more to do with this character,” he said.

He said Lehasa will make decisions that might make him turn over a new leaf.

“We’ve always known he’s a survivor, but we didn’t know the extent to which he’s willing to go to be that. We’ll now see,” he said.

He said he shares some similarities with his character.

“The similarities we have are resilience, love for those we hold dear, being healthy, taking bold decisions in life and confidence. I like that he can have anything he puts his mind to. He doesn’t let little things hold him back. He’s self-made and intelligent,” he said.

Cedric also shared what he doesn’t like about him.

“I don’t like how he loses his cool even when there’s an opportunity to first reason and think. He’s also sometimes led by emotions,” he said.

He said his journey has been consistently filled with growth and excitement.

“The biggest lesson I’ve learnt is to prepare yourself in all aspects. This means being careful who you associate yourself with, understanding that current actions can come back to haunt you in the future. Be economically prepared in any way possible – financially, resources, networking and more,” he said.

Cedric said Skeem Saam has impacted his life positively.

“Apart from being famous, it has allowed me to have access to a few small things. The impact has been both good and bad. But measuring it all on average, I’d say it’s fairly good,” he said.
