Skeem Saam actor Thabiso Molokomme launches his own skincare line
When Thabiso Molokomme first stepped onto the set of one of Mzansi’s most beloved drama series, he was just a young boy, fresh-faced and eager to embark on his acting career. Little did he know that this experience would not only shape his professional life but also catalyze his personal growth and development, Daily Sun reported.
Over the past two years, Thabiso has matured into a man who not only continues to captivate audiences on the small screen but has also ventured into the world of entrepreneurship. The 23-year-old from Seshego, Limpopo, credits his time on the drama series for instilling in him the values of financial responsibility, spiritual growth, and mental and physical strength.
“It forced me to grow up by becoming financially, spiritually, mentally and physically strong and responsible,” Thabiso reflects, acknowledging the profound impact that his acting career has had on his life. He appreciates the drama series’ commitment to opening up the industry, a movement he has been a staunch supporter of for years.
However, Thabiso’s journey to success has not been without its challenges. In his late teenage years, he found himself questioning his passion for acting, unsure of the path he wanted to take. “But in my late teen years absolutely not,” he admits. “So, I’d say acting chose me and I’m putting my best foot forward every day ’cause I respect this job so much.”
Thabiso’s unwavering dedication to his craft has paid off, as he has now ventured into the realm of entrepreneurship, founding a skincare company named Ba Kene. This move, he believes, is a natural extension of his passion for self-care and his desire to share his knowledge with others.
“I’ve always been complimented on my skin because I took really great care of it. And as the saying goes, if you’re buying too much of something, rather own it. A young black boy with a skincare brand,” Thabiso says with pride.
Recognizing the stigma that often surrounds men’s involvement in skincare and self-care, Thabiso is on a mission to challenge these preconceptions. “I’m not here to judge people and their thinking, so I know that there still needs to be a lot of education around skincare and self-care, especially for men. We’re hoping that our company can collaborate with many others to de-stigmatise the idea that taking care of your skin or practising self-love means you are gay,” he explains.
Thabiso’s journey from a young actor to a successful entrepreneur is a testament to the power of perseverance, self-belief, and a willingness to challenge societal norms. As he continues to excel in his acting career and navigate the world of entrepreneurship, Thabiso’s story serves as an inspiration to aspiring artists and business leaders alike, proving that with dedication and a clear vision, anything is possible.
