Skeem Saam actor driven by storytelling
SKEEM SAAM actor has a passion for storytelling.
Malibongwe Mdwaba (26) from Khayelitsha in Cape Town, said knowing his work can move, inspire, or comfort others keeps him motivated.
Malibongwe recently joined the cast of Skeem Saam, playing a role in the drama surrounding Lehasa’s life in prison. He said he finds it an honour to be part of a show that resonates deeply with South African audiences.
“Skeem Saam tells stories that reflect our society, challenging and inspiring us. I’ve always wanted to tell stories that make a difference,” said Malibongwe.
Malibongwe said the character is complex and multi-dimensional.
“He struggles with internal conflicts and external expectations. I’m excited to explore themes of ambition, vulnerability, and belonging,” said Malibongwe.
Malibongwe said he’s been in the acting industry for over a decade. He said he has faced many challenges.
“Financial instability, rejection, and self-doubt have been tough. But each challenge has made me stronger and more determined,” he said.
