Shock as funeral ends with three bodies!
CAPE Town residents are shocked after two men were killed at a funeral on Saturday, 8 February, in the Ravensmead area.
According to a Daily Sun source from the area, the funeral was proceeding well until a gunman who was among the mourners pulled a firearm and shot at the father of the man being buried.
The man, who was dressed up in all black, pretended to be a mourner to get close to the victim,
“He didn’t miss. He shot at the father at close range, and he died at the funeral right away. Mourners were shocked and panicked at first, but they quickly gathered their courage and apprehended the killer before he could run away from the scene,” said the source.
The shooter, who is believed to be a gang member, tried to run away from the scene but was quickly caught by angry residents.
He was allegedly moered to death by the mourners.
The source told Daily Sun that by the time cops arrived, the shooter was already dead.
He was reportedly moered and died at the same place where the funeral proceedings were taking place.

Residents have been left traumatised by the incident, with others expressing utmost disgust at the lack of respect for the dead shown by the gunman.
In a video viewed by SunTeam, the victim’s body lies covered with a white sheet, with blood flowing from it, while people gather around, crying. Nearby, the shooter’s body is seen lying uncovered and unattended a few metres away.
“He should have respected the funeral and mourners even if he had issues with the father of the deceased person. This is shocking. We have never witnessed such an incident. The funeral ended up with three bodies,” said the resident.
The Ravensmead Community Police Forum (CPF) spokesman Lucian Davids said they are dismayed and have condemned the incident.
“This morning, a father was shot dead at the funeral of his son. The perpetrator was caught by community members present, disarmed and beaten to death. These are the two bodies in the video that has circulated on the internet this morning,” said Davids.
He added that this is the first time such an incident has ever happened in their area.
“This is the first incident of this nature, and as Ravensmead CPF, we condemn in strongest terms this terrible precedent. It is an unspeakable act to do while someone is being laid to rest,” said Davids.
Police spokesman Captain Frederick Van Wyk confirmed the incident, which he said is under investigation.
“Ravensmead registered two separate murder cases for investigation following a shooting incident that occurred this morning Saturday, 8 February, at 8:45 am at Beverly Court, Ravensmead. A 54-year-old man was shot and fatally wounded by a 26-year-old man. The alleged shooter was beaten to death on the scene of the incident. The motive is believed to be gang related.
“According to reports, the deceased attended his son’s funeral at the mentioned address when the suspect shot and fatally wounded him with a gunshot wound to the back of the head. The suspect then ran away but was chased and apprehended by the community who attended the funeral and was beaten to death,” said Van Wyk.
