Seemah Calls MaWhoo Overrated, Sparks Online Backlash

Seemah’s Controversial Comments on MaWhoo
South African content creator and podcaster Seemah Mangolwane has once again found herself at the center of controversy. Seemah, widely known for her TikTok content and her role as one of the three hosts of the Spreading Humour podcast, has sparked online outrage after her recent remarks about singer MaWhoo.

In a recent episode of the podcast, Seemah and her co-hosts were discussing artists they believe are overrated. She initially mentioned rapper A-Reece, stating that she felt he was overrated while growing up, though she clarified it was mostly because she isn’t a fan of hip-hop. However, her comments about MaWhoo drew the most attention.

“Her Music is Overrated” – Seemah on MaWhoo
During the discussion, Seemah boldly claimed, “I have always thought MaWhoo’s music is overrated, personally, guys, I am sorry.” She went on to criticize MaWhoo’s stage presence, adding, “The thing that irritated me the most is that she does not perform—she just gets on stage looking cute and pretty.”

These remarks quickly spread on social media after a clip from the podcast was posted on various platforms, including TikTok. Many internet users expressed their frustration with Seemah’s comments, arguing that she was unfairly targeting celebrities.

Backlash from TikTok Users
Seemah’s comments did not sit well with many TikTok users, with some calling for her to be “canceled.” Several users criticized her for continuously making negative remarks about public figures. One commenter pointed out, “Seemah expects MaWhoo to dance like her performance with Ghost, when she was playing with her feet and Ghost was hyping that.”

This isn’t the first time Seemah has made headlines for controversial statements. In a previous podcast episode, she shared a story about being in a club with South African rapper Nadia Nakai, where Nakai allegedly took alcohol from her and her friends.

MaWhoo’s Achievements and Response
While MaWhoo has not publicly responded to Seemah’s remarks, the singer continues to make headlines for her success. Recently, she made news for spending millions to build her mother a house, a move that was widely praised by her fans.

Despite Seemah’s criticism, MaWhoo remains a popular figure in the South African music scene, known for her contributions to Amapiano and her collaborations with top artists.

Final Thoughts
Seemah’s comments have once again put her in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. While she is entitled to her opinions, many believe her approach is unnecessarily harsh. The backlash she’s facing highlights the fine line between honest critique and outright negativity—something social media users are quick to call out.

As the debate continues online, it remains to be seen whether Seemah will address the controversy or stand by her words.
