‘Savage Beauty’ actor Dumisani Mbebe to star in ‘The Bad Bishop’
Former ‘Generations and ‘Savage Beauty’ star Dumisani Mbebe has secured the role of Pastor Bororo in ‘The Bad Bishop’.
Former Backstage actor Dumisani Mbebe will lead the cast of The Bad Bishop as Pastor Bororo.
DUMISANI MBEBE AS PASTOR BORORO
The Bad Bishop actor Dumisani Mbebe tells Sowetan that his latest character Pastor Bororo is a dodgy character who believes all he is doing is right.
“The title of the new film simply explains itself. It had me saying and asking myself how I’ll wear this new dodgy character.”
His character believes all he is doing is right and has valid reasons to back himself.
Mbebe adds that he had to strip himself off and detach from who he is as a person because he doesn’t believe in religion.
“Despite my stance against religion, I made sure to respect the role and reflect all the bad that is often found within religion.”
Mbebe who is also known for his villainous roles in Savage Beauty and Backstage discusses his first roles.
“My very first role was a theatre production called Giants where I acted alongside Kgomotso Christopher. We were so young then and full of life,” he said.
“I then got my first TV role as Shakes when Backstage was still based in Cape Town. He was such a dodgy character who was one of Duke’s [Carlo Radebe] gambling associates. “
