This role is based within Sasol’s EMI: Mining operations and will be responsible for ensuring operational compliance and quality standards in all mechanical maintenance relating to diesel-powered equipment across the plant and mining areas. Apply diesel mechanic trade skills to maintain plant and mining equipment
Support safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) compliance
Collaborate in performance-driven team settings
Receive ongoing performance feedback and training
Contribute to maintenance strategy and long-term plant sustainability
Mentor junior artisans and learners in the workplace
Participate in daily safety meetings, PDAs (Plant Daily Assessments), and RCAs (Root Cause Analyses)
Assist in writing and improving work instructions for increased team competency
Lead task teams and act as a group leader when required
Uphold Sasol’s inclusive values and safety-first approach in all operations

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 or N3 Certificate (must include English, Mathematics, and Physical Science)
Diesel Mechanic Trade Test (NQF Level 4)
Flameproof Certificate
Gas Testing Certificate
0 – 5+ years of relevant diesel mechanic experience in a plant or mining environment
