“SARS Targets Zonke Dikana Over Massive R18 Million Tax Debt”
Celebrated singer, producer and composer Zonke Dikana is making headlines against her tax woes with the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
SARS GOES AFTER ZONKE DIKANA
Confirmed reports have it that she owes SARS around R18 million in unpaid taxes. According to ZiMoja, Zonke Dikana has struggled to keep up with her taxes over the years.
A source revealed to ZiMoja that, “Cracks, and she defaulted. This sort of thing can easily happen to artists because they are self-employed and get paid for gigs per invoice.”
Surprisingly, her tax woes come barely after she bought a sleek Bentley and Mercedes-Benz V-Class for tours.
The least-priced Bentley has a base price tag of R1.8 million, while most Bentleys have a base price tag of R4.5 million in several dealerships dotted around South Africa.
However, Zonke Dikana’s rumoured V-Class has a base price tag of R2.2 in several dealerships.
Rumour mill has it that she knows the offences and has since engaged SARS. Instalment payments have since been organised between the SARS and the singer.
“The issue here is not defaulting, but the taxman struggled to reach her. The matter could have been resolved long ago, but she was unreachable, and her debt accumulated with charges,” ZiMoja revealed.
The bubbly singer was unavailable for comment at the time of publication. She joins a host of South African celebrities who have been embroiled in tax woes with SARS.
