SAMA26: Kaybee Bags the Male Artist of The Year Award
Others victors of the night included Lungisa Xhamela, Benjamin Dube and Pilani Bubu. The second night of 26th yearly South African Music Awards (Samas) under the subtheme #ForThaSoul opened with an introduction from Judith Sephuma.
The multi-award winning songstress belted her melodic hit Maropeng while staying in a surrendered thousand old theater.
Ami Faku passed on a truly charged understanding of Inde Lendlela in a void yet private outdoors setting under splendid get-together lights.
Ruler Kaybee rose as the enormous champ for the night in the wake of making sure about the pined for Male Artist of the Year award for his assortment Re Mmino.
Gospel craftsman and priest Benjamin Dube, who is similarly a SAMA26 Lifetime Achievement Award honouree, took the Best Contemporary Faith Music Album for Glory in His Presence.
Samthing Soweto left with the Best Afro-Pop Album award for Isphithiphithi.
Reggae star Bongo Riot Di Dancehall Wakanda won the respect for Best Reggae Album with True Stories, and Cape Town group Lo-Ghost ensured about the Best Alternative Music Album for Cult Pop.
Others champs of the night included Lungisa Xhamela, the Ndlovu Youth Choir and Pilani Bubu.
Hosts Dineo Langa and Donovan Goliath didn’t baffle with their glamourous outfits: the on-screen character wore a Miss Boss Couture dim outfit absolute with a gold headpiece, while the performer wore a CSquared houndstooth coat.
Humorist Skhumba Hlophe and radio character DJ Ankletap kept watchers connected with their talk, close by infamous gospel star Rebecca Malope.
Nhlanhla Sibisi, CEO of the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA), adulated the champs: “We recognize the capacity that so deservedly got respected today around night time. We are satisfied with their pledge to the local music scene.
“We are furthermore appreciative to the various enthusiasts of music and supporters of the craftsmanship who continue tuning in and reinforce the SAMA. Here’s to all the all the more stimulating and magnificently made scenes of SAMA26 this week.”
