The Consultant: Pre-Assessment will be tasked with assessing the eligibility of prospective claims before formal lodgement, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and organizational protocols. This function is key to streamlining the claims process and reducing the turnaround time for compensation.
Tasks
Pre-Assessment of Prospective Claims
- Record and review all submitted documents related to potential claims
- Determine applicable benefits and products based on submitted documentation
- Assess compliance in line with established processes and rules
- Apply compliance and lodgment rules to pre-assess claims
- Identify and flag duplicate or linked claims
- Validate claims against the prescription and mortality rules using Home Affairs data
- Communicate assessment outcomes to prospective claimants
Quality Assurance
- Ensure the highest standards in pre-assessment procedures
- Implement and maintain procedures for managing unusual occurrences
Administrative Support
- Accurately document acknowledged claims
- Handle and respond to various correspondences
- Prepare and edit briefing papers, reports, and presentations
- Support in drafting technical documents, letters, and internal memos
Reporting
- Track and report on departmental goals and objectives
- Identify and escalate emerging risks
- Generate ad hoc reports on initiatives aimed at process improvement
Stakeholder Management
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure consistent follow-up and communication on claim statuses
- Respond promptly to all stakeholder queries within the set turnaround times
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in a relevant field is mandatory
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a claims processing environment
- Prior experience with insurance, road accident, or legal claims is highly advantageous
