RIP: Top Football Star Dies In Car Crash After Scoring For His Country

Algeria and USM Algerian striker Bilel Benammuda have died in a car crash. The 24-year-old is on his way home after playing for the national team in a friendly against DRC, which the Desert Warriors won 3-0 on Thursday.

Benhamuda scored the second goal from a penalty for the hosts while the other two hosted Rida Bensaya and Nadir Benbouali. The striker was with an unnamed friend during the incident, which occurred on Friday evening ahead of the now postponed league game against ES Setif.

The player must play for Algeria in the Africa Cup of Nations (Chan). Benammuda’s father said in a TV statement that his son was on the verge of getting a visa to travel abroad and was close to joining a European club without revealing the club name.

“The government extends its sincere condolences to the Benamuda family following the death of Al Ittihad player Benhamuda. We pray to Almighty God to bless the deceased with His great mercy and enter him into the Garden of Heaven and inspire the patience and comfort of his family. After receiving the news, his teammates from the club who were already on their way to the league returned to their respective places of residence. Benammuda was born on August 28, 1997, and started his football career with USMM Hadjout and USM Algiers respectively. He also represents a top-tier team at the top.
