South African evangelical pastor Ray McCauley, the founder of Rhema Bible Church, has passed away at the age of 75. His family confirmed his peaceful death in a heartfelt statement, revealing that McCauley passed on surrounded by his loved ones at his home.

“It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Pastor Ray McCauley, founder of Rhema Bible Church, an evangelical leader,” said his son Joshua McCauley, who is now the senior pastor of the church. McCauley was an iconic figure in South Africa’s religious landscape, having established the Rhema Bible Church in 1979. Under his leadership, the church became one of the largest and most influential in the country, boasting over 45,000 members.
