    Ladysmith Black Mambazo 2.0!

FIVE-TIME Grammy-winning isicathamiya group Ladysmith Black Mambazo welcomes fresh talent.

Celebrating 65 years in the music industry, the group has added two new young members Babuyile (39) and Gagamile Shabalala (37) to help maintain its original sound and for future generations.

Both are related to the late founder Joseph Shabalala, who passed away in 2020.

The world-renowned group, founded in 1960, has only one original member left, Albert Mazibuko (76). Due to age, he won’t be part of the group’s upcoming international tours.

Black Mambazo, from uMnambithi, KZN, also known as Amambazo Amnyama, kicks off its US-Canada tour from 14 February to 6 April.

Group manager Xolani Majozi told Daily Sun it was the late Joseph’s dream to keep Amambazo’s original sound by integrating new members.

“With Mazibuko getting older, we added new members while he’s still here. He won’t join the US and Canada tour but will be part of the Mexico tour in May.”

Xolani said the aim is to keep its original sound through mentorship.

“Thirty years ago, Joseph introduced his sons, Sibongiseni, Thulani, and Thami Shabalala, to preserve the group’s sound while retiring members were still active. We’ve introduced these two to do the same and prepare them for international tours.”

Tragic Fatality: Pedestrian Killed in Accident on R102

Tragic Fatality: Pedestrian Killed in Accident on R102

A devastating incident on the R102 has left a woman dead after she was struck by a VW Polo while walking along the roadside. This tragic event has drawn attention to the dangers pedestrians face while walking along busy highways, and authorities are working diligently to understand the circumstances that led to the accident.

The accident took place when the woman, whose identity has not been released, was walking along the R102. According to the driver of the VW Polo, the woman suddenly stepped onto the road, attempting to cross as the vehicle was approaching. The driver stated that there was no opportunity to swerve or stop in time to avoid hitting her. The shock and confusion of the event have left the driver in a state of distress, as he was unable to react quickly enough to prevent the collision.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the accident, but sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the location. The exact circumstances of the crash are still being determined, and authorities are working to gather more information from any witnesses and reviewing available footage from nearby surveillance cameras. Initial reports suggest that the pedestrian might not have been visible to the driver until it was too late, which could have contributed to the tragic outcome.

The local authorities have opened an investigation into the accident, aiming to piece together the events leading up to the fatal crash. They are focusing on factors such as road conditions, visibility, the speed of the vehicle, and whether the pedestrian was crossing the road at a designated crosswalk. Eyewitnesses are being interviewed, and the vehicle involved is being inspected for any mechanical issues that could have played a role in the incident.

At this stage, it is still unclear whether the pedestrian was in a marked pedestrian zone or if she was crossing the road outside of designated crossing points. This information is crucial, as it will help determine the liability and whether there were any issues with road design or safety measures in place for pedestrians.

This tragedy highlights the ongoing issue of pedestrian safety, particularly on busy roads where vehicle speeds are higher, and pedestrian infrastructure may be inadequate. The R102, which is a major route connecting various towns, sees a high volume of traffic, and pedestrians walking along the roadside are often exposed to significant risks. The area where the accident took place has been the site of similar incidents in the past, raising concerns about the safety of those walking near or on the road.

Authorities have been urging both pedestrians and drivers to remain vigilant. Pedestrians are reminded to always use designated crosswalks when possible and to be cautious of traffic, particularly when walking along busy roads. Drivers are encouraged to reduce speeds when approaching areas where pedestrians may be present and to stay alert to any potential hazards.

The community is left in shock after the fatal crash, with many residents expressing their condolences to the family of the deceased woman. While the investigation is ongoing, local officials are calling for increased awareness and improved safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. Many are hoping that this tragedy serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for both drivers and pedestrians to take extra precautions to protect each other on the roads.

The Dark Side Behind Social Media Glamour: The Tragic Story of Sibongile Dlamini and Banele Skhosana

The Dark Side Behind Social Media Glamour: The Tragic Story of Sibongile Dlamini and Banele Skhosana

In today’s world, social media often paints a picture-perfect version of life, leaving many to envy the seemingly ideal lives of others. However, as we’ve seen in the tragic story of Sibongile Dlamini and Banele Skhosana, appearances can be deceiving. What seemed like a picture-perfect relationship quickly descended into a nightmare.

Sibongile and Banele were the epitome of a happy young couple. They posted beautiful pictures on social media, showing their loving relationship, their child, and their hard work. Banele worked as a metro police officer, and they ran a tuckshop together, making ends meet and seemingly building a future full of promise. In December 2024, Sibongile shared a joyous post announcing that she had finally become Mrs. Skhosana, celebrating their commitment to each other.

However, just weeks later, the couple’s world was shattered. In a shocking turn of events, towards the end of January, Banele was ambushed while unloading stock from a vehicle in front of his tuckshop. An unknown assailant approached him, pulled a gun, and shot him. Despite being a police officer himself, Banele wasn’t able to react in time. In situations like these, the outcome often depends on who’s quicker on the draw. Tragically, Banele was unable to defend himself.

At the time of the shooting, Banele had just been recovering from a previous poisoning incident that had landed him in the hospital. It was a cruel twist of fate that led to his untimely death. A young husband, father, and police officer was taken from his family in an instant.

For Sibongile, the loss was unbearable. She was inconsolable upon learning that her husband had been killed. This wasn’t the first time she had experienced such heartache; her first husband had mysteriously died from poisoning as well. It was a double blow, as she was forced to cope with the loss of a second husband in such tragic circumstances.

As the family made funeral arrangements for Banele, they were still in a state of shock. On the Friday before the funeral, things took an even darker turn. While Sibongile’s grief-stricken family prepared to lay her husband to rest, police arrived at their home to arrest her. The tragic news didn’t end with her husband’s death—Sibongile was taken into custody for her alleged involvement in her husband’s murder.

The arrest stunned everyone present. Sibongile was informed that she was being charged with conspiracy to commit murder in connection to Banele’s death. The family, still reeling from the loss, could hardly believe what they were hearing.

It wasn’t long before the truth began to unfold. According to reports, the shooting was captured on CCTV, and the footage revealed the identity of the shooter. The gunman was traced and, in a shocking turn of events, revealed that Sibongile had hired him to kill her husband. While the motive remains unclear, the police investigation continues, with the disturbing revelation that Banele’s death was the result of a conspiracy orchestrated by his wife.

The family’s reaction was mixed; some broke down in tears, while others turned to prayer, thanking God for revealing the truth before the funeral. The tragic events surrounding Banele’s death have left a lasting impact on all who knew him. What once appeared to be a perfect family and a happy life now stands as a cautionary tale about the dangers lurking behind the glossy images on social media.

In a cruel twist of fate, what was meant to be a celebration of love turned into a devastating nightmare for Sibongile and her family. The truth behind Banele’s death may never be fully understood, but one thing is clear: life is not always what it seems on the surface, and sometimes the darkest secrets are hidden behind the most beautiful facades.

HOME Affairs Department detains Chidimma Adetshina’s mum Anabela Rungo in Cape Town.

She was detained by Cape Town Investigators from Home Affairs, assisted by the SAPS, on Saturday morning, February 15.

A few days ago, some Mzansi residents claimed that Chidimma was spotted in Cape Town, and the question was how she gained entry to South Africa because her Mzansi documentation was withdrawn in 2024 after the Miss South Africa controversy.

The department also withdrew Anabela’s South African documentation in September 2024 after finding that it had been fraudulently obtained, rendering her ineligible to continue residing in Mzansi.

On Saturday, 15 February, Home Affairs confirmed in a statement that they detained Chidimma’s mum. “In an apparent act of brazen disregard for the legal consequences of her conduct, it appears that Ms Rungo has defined her ‘undesirable’ status through her Mozambican passport.

“Investigations are ongoing into further potential misrepresentation and fraudulent conduct. During the operation this morning, investigators from the Counter Corruption and Immigration Services branches of the department also found Adetshina’s under-aged child residing with Rungo,” said the statement.

The statement further said after being processed by Home Affairs over her apparent illegal continued residence in Mzansi, Ms Rungo will be handed over to the SAPS as she is also the subject of an ongoing investigation by the Directorate for Priority Crime and SAPS Child Protection Unit as it relates to protecting the interests of the under-age child.

Gogo Skhotheni Warns: Korobela Can Be Dangerous!

THERE are different types of love potions.

There’s a love potion that people put in food, which is harmful due to the herbs used. This can cause a variety of issues in the body such as a big belly and throat problems.

This was revealed by Gogo Skhotheni, whose real name is Patricia Tumi Motsoeni Shange.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Skhotheni said she recommends a love potion whereby a sangoma puts muthi into a person’s system.

“Then, you must have sex with your partner. That I recommend. There are love potions that both partners agree to to strengthen their relationship or marriage,” she said.

Skhotheni said side-effects of a love potion used in food are dangerous and deadly.

“If you suspect your partner has fed you a love potion, there’ll be signs. Whenever you think of this person, you start feeling uneasy and scared, as if you’re up to no good. You start fearing them even when you’re doing nothing wrong and just chilling with friends. In this case, you have to go to a sangoma who will take it out,” she said.

She said usually with this kind of muthi, you have to vomit it out, and this comes with many dangers.

“If the muthi has caused a stone inside you, it can get stuck in your throat while trying to vomit it out, and that could cause problems with your breathing. The best way would be to take it out through the anus,” she said.

She confirmed that love potions can strengthen relationships, saying she has worked with it and has seen results.

“Some even tell me they no longer want their partners after feeding them the love potion,” she said.

Gogo Skhotheni’s advise is if people want to use a love potion on their partners, they must do it with someone they’re married to or someone for whom you’ve paid lobola.

“If it happens that muthi is used on someone you’re dating and at some point, you start disliking them, how will they leave you?”

She emphasised that you can’t control someone using muthi. You can only strengthen your love using muthi.

    The value of true friendship
Despite the struggles, he never felt alone.

If this journey has taught him anything, it’s who his real friends are.

“My real friends stood by me. You see your true friends when you’re down and out. Some may not visit, but they always check-in. I know who’s really there for me now.”

As a performer, taking a break was difficult. Fans missed him, and he missed them.

His health had to come first.

“I’m taking a few gigs but listening to my doctors. I’m not fully healed yet, so I can’t overwork myself.

“Right now, we’re about to release our first single. I think it’ll be out end of March.

“I’m still busy with physio and all that, but I can safely say I’m grateful for a second chance.”

Asked if his health influenced losing industry friends, L’vovo said not everyone would turn their back on you.

“When you’re down, that’s when you see your true friends. But I’m grateful to those who are there, the likes of Zakes and Danger, among others.

“Even those who can’t come physically, through their messages I’m thankful. This helps me do self-introspection and find myself again. There’s a difference between people you know and friends. Now, I can differentiate the two,” he said.

L’vovo remains deeply grateful to his fans.
