Shauwn Mkhize Cheers for Royal AM After Draw with Kaizer Chiefs

Unbothered Shauwn Mkhize (MaMkhize) spotted celebrating Royal AM’s draw against Kaizer Chiefs! Soweto football giants Kaizer Chiefs failed to secure third place in the Betway Premiership after surrendering a two-goal lead in a dramatic draw with Royal AM.

Despite their early dominance, Chiefs saw their hopes dashed as Royal AM clawed back to earn a vital point.

    Chiefs Take Commanding Lead

Kaizer Chiefs made a blistering start, opening the scoring just five minutes into the game. Yusuf Maart orchestrated the attack, setting up Ashley Du Preez, who calmly slotted home the opener. The early goal gave Chiefs momentum, and they capitalized further when Wandile Duba doubled the lead with a clinical first-time finish, assisted by Solomons.

    Unbothered Shauwn Mkhize

The Soweto side appeared to be cruising, showcasing aggressive play and fluidity in the first half. Their dominance suggested they would leave the match with three points firmly in their grasp.

    Royal AM’s Resilient Fightback

Royal AM, however, had other plans. The visitors regrouped and came out fighting in the second half. Ayabulela Maxwele pulled one back in the 51st minute, injecting hope into his team.

The match became a nail-biter as Chiefs struggled to regain their first-half rhythm, while Royal AM continued to press. Their persistence paid off in the dying moments when Levy Mashaine scored a dramatic equalizer in the 89th minute.

The draw was a disappointment for Kaizer Chiefs, but for Royal AM, the point was crucial in their battle to improve their league standing.

    MaMkhize Steals the Spotlight

Amid the excitement of the game, Royal AM owner Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize made headlines for her spirited support of the team. Despite recent legal troubles involving the South African Revenue Service (SARS), MaMkhize attended the match with her usual exuberance.

Photos of MaMkhize cheering, singing, and dancing after her team’s equalizer quickly flooded social media. Many were struck by her seemingly unbothered demeanor despite the cloud of controversy surrounding her.

SARS Raid and Ongoing Tax Battle

MaMkhize’s public appearance came just days after SARS conducted a raid on her R20 million La Lucia mansion in Durban. The raid, carried out on November 26 with police assistance, aimed to secure assets amid allegations that MaMkhize owes approximately R37 million in unpaid taxes.

SARS confirmed the raid but did not comment on whether similar actions had been taken at her other properties. According to reports, the operation was part of SARS’ broader effort to combat tax evasion and criminal activities that undermine South Africa’s economy.

The tax agency previously faced challenges in seizing MaMkhize’s assets. Earlier this year, an attempted asset seizure led to a standoff between security companies at her properties in Durban and Sandton. Legal battles have continued since then, with SARS securing an execution order from the Pietermaritzburg High Court earlier this year.

    Social Media Reactions

MaMkhize’s animated support for Royal AM, despite her legal challenges, sparked reactions across social media. Some users admired her resilience, while others questioned her carefree attitude given the gravity of her financial troubles.

Her unwavering commitment to her team was evident, and her celebratory dance after Royal AM’s equalizer showcased her passion for football.

    Looking Ahead

Kaizer Chiefs must regroup after their missed opportunity to secure third place. The draw highlights the need for the team to maintain focus and intensity throughout matches, especially as the season progresses.

For Royal AM, the result was a testament to their determination. Levy Mashaine’s late equalizer could provide a morale boost as the team continues to fight for points in the league.

Meanwhile, MaMkhize’s legal battles remain unresolved. The outcome of SARS’ efforts to recover unpaid taxes could have significant implications for the businesswoman and her football club.

As the drama unfolds on and off the pitch, both Royal AM and Kaizer Chiefs will look to build on this thrilling encounter in the coming weeks.

  • Radio Personality Criselda Kananda Opens Up About Life with HIV

Radio Personality Criselda Kananda Opens Up About Life with HIV

Radio Personality Criselda Kananda Opens Up About Life with HIV

Radio presenter Criselda Kananda reflects on living life with HIV! As the world observes World AIDS Day on December 1, celebrated social activist and former radio personality Criselda Kananda shared a heartfelt and deeply personal message reflecting on her decades-long journey living with HIV.

Criselda, who has been open about her diagnosis and advocacy work, used the moment to offer gratitude, share her struggles, and inspire hope for those living with HIV.

A Journey of Survival and Gratitude

Decades ago, Criselda was told she would not live more than two years after her diagnosis. Today, she stands as a testament to resilience, reflecting on her survival with immense gratitude.

“I look back in complete gratitude for what the Lord has done in my life,” she shared.

She also took a moment to honor the lives lost to HIV/AIDS, especially those who passed away believing the virus was an automatic death sentence.

“Today, I mourn the deaths of millions of people who passed believing that being diagnosed with HIV infection is a death sentence,” she said. Criselda highlighted the pain faced by those who were failed by unfaithful partners or excluded from proper healthcare and holistic treatments.

Challenges on the Path to Wellness

In her candid message, Criselda delved into the physical and emotional toll of living with HIV. She described how heartbreak and betrayal weakened her immune system, eventually leading to hospitalizations, post-traumatic stress disorder, and a prolonged health struggle after exposure to post-COVID complications.

Years after her diagnosis, Criselda made the decision to start antiretroviral therapy (ARVs). While ARVs are life-saving for many, she openly discussed how they brought challenges of their own.

“It’s been three years that tested all my theories about HIV medication,” she admitted. She shared that her ARV regimen led to the onset of diabetes, a secondary health challenge she continues to manage.

Despite the ups and downs, Criselda expressed gratitude for her life, family, friends, and career progression, saying, “I am still here, strong and closest to healthy. Grateful for life, family, and genuine friends.”

    Advocating for Education and Awareness

Criselda used her platform to call for renewed public education about HIV, particularly distinguishing between HIV and AIDS, terms she feels are often conflated.

“HIV is not AIDS,” she emphasized. Drawing an analogy, she stated, “We don’t say hypertension or stroke. HIV is a germ that weakens the body, and AIDS is any illness that takes advantage of the weak body and makes it sick.”

She went on to explain that many AIDS-related illnesses, such as tuberculosispneumonia, and certain cancers, can be treated or even cured. She also acknowledged that while some conditions, like diabetes and herpes, are incurable, they are manageable with proper care.

    The Reality of ARVs

Criselda addressed misconceptions about ARVs, asserting that while they play a vital role in managing HIV, they are not a complete solution.

“The biggest lie continues to be that ARVs alone make living with HIV easier,” she said. Criselda expressed gratitude for starting her ARV treatment during a time when advancements in medicine had made the drugs less harmful.

She praised scientists for their ethical progress in developing treatments that prioritize the health and safety of those living with the virus.

    Choosing Self-Love and Empowerment

Throughout her journey, Criselda has remained an advocate for self-love and empowerment. She described how she makes a daily choice to love herself, show up as her best self, and demand respect from others.

“Though not easy, every day I choose to love myself unconditionally,” she said. “I honor myself and all my achievements.”

    A Message of Hope

As World AIDS Day encourages global reflection and action, Criselda’s story offers hope and resilience to millions. She continues to inspire by using her voice to educate, advocate, and remind the world that living with HIV is not the end—it’s a journey of courage, empowerment, and transformation.

Criselda concluded her message by urging the public to invest in factual information about HIV and approach the topic with compassion and understanding. For her, the fight against stigma and misinformation is just as important as the medical battle against the virus.

Nota Baloyi Faces Court Following Recent Release from Prison

‘It’s a costly exercise but hopefully it will be done soon’

Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi appeared in the Randburg magistrate’s court on Friday after his release from Johannesburg Prison, known as Sun City, on Monday.

Nota, who also faces a rape accusation filed by actress Itumeleng Bokaba, was released under correctional supervision.

He appeared at the family court in connection with a protection order that was served in September.

This after he requested that his attorney examine a video which he believes could indicate Bokaba might have broken the protection order, which prohibits her from discussing him on social media.

“It’s a very costly exercise but hopefully it will be done soon. I was in prison and therefore could not reply or file my affidavits in time so they’ve given [me] an extension until December 30 to file the reply to the affidavits and the indexing needs to be submitted on January 21, and the matter will be heard on January 26,” he told TshisaLIVE.

“When you’re in prison you think you might be raped. Fortunately that didn’t happen to me. You are able to trade things like slices of bread, so if you give them soap, they iron your clothes. And I had spare Sunlight. My case has been postponed to February 26.”

The controversial music manager served nearly 20 days of a 60-day sentence imposed by the Johannesburg high court in March 2023, related to a defamation case brought against him by rapper Ntokozo Mdluli, better known as K.O, over social media allegations.

After his release in late November, Nota took to X to boast about his experience in prison, expressing how much he missed the people he met while incarcerated. He also boasted about the luxuries he enjoyed while in prison, including having his clothes ironed, receiving meals, and getting visits from his loved ones.

“Among serial killers, mass murderers, rapists, scammers, fraudsters and all manner of deplorable characters, your GOAT (greatest of all time) was the biggest rock star. Inside, I had my meals brought to me, my clothes ironed every morning from the day I arrived, and a bed waiting for me until my release,” he said.

“As nice as it is to be out, I miss my brothers back inside Monster’s Inc, watching SABC news from the prison cell, seeing our lovers, mothers, wives and sisters taking to the streets because the men who are supposed to protect them are locked down for 18 hours, eating a meal a day.”

Nota joked about “converting to Judaism” and claimed there was no dinner served in prison, which he said did not affect him.

“There’s no supper in jail. You get porridge for breakfast and five slices of bread after the nonsense they give us prisoners for lunch. Fortunately for me, I converted to Judaism because the kosher menu has rice and better-quality protein than that of the Christians and pork, unlike halaal.”

Nota is under house detention with high-risk supervision until January 2025.

Tragedy Strikes: Spaza Shops Set Ablaze Following Child’s Death

Tragedy Strikes: Spaza Shops Set Ablaze Following Child’s Death

On Thursday evening, a tragic incident led to community unrest in the local area, as residents reacted to the death of a six-year-old boy suspected of suffering from food poisoning. The child passed away after allegedly eating biscuits bought from a nearby spaza shop.

    Tragic Death Sparks Outrage

The child, whose identity has not been revealed, reportedly returned home after purchasing snacks from a spaza shop. He soon began complaining of stomach pains, and his parents noticed white foam around his mouth, a sign of distress. According to police spokesperson Magonseni Nkosi, the child revealed that the biscuits he had eaten came from the local spaza shop. Tragically, the boy was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

In the wake of the death, the local community was engulfed in anger and frustration. Some members took matters into their own hands, believing the biscuits were contaminated. As a result, two spaza shops, both owned by foreign nationals, were set on fire by the outraged residents.

    ### Police Intervention and Arrests

The situation quickly escalated, with police forced to intervene to control the violence. Nkosi confirmed that two suspects were arrested for public violence on Thursday afternoon. Local authorities have since increased their presence in the area to prevent further outbreaks of unrest.

The two arrested individuals are expected to face charges in the Delmas Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Nkosi also mentioned that investigations into the boy’s death are ongoing, with authorities looking into the possibility of contaminated food or unsafe products being sold at local spaza shops.

    ### Calls for Action on Spaza Shops

The incident comes amid growing concerns about the safety of products sold in spaza shops, especially those operated by foreign nationals. Recently, political figures, including McKenzie, have called for stricter regulations or even the closure of spaza shops run by foreigners, citing safety concerns for local consumers. This tragic event has only intensified those calls, as many believe the food safety standards in these stores are inadequate.

    ### Community Response and Repercussions

While the death of a child is always a devastating event, the violent response by community members has sparked debates about the safety and regulation of small businesses in local communities. It also raises questions about how to balance justice and due process with the overwhelming emotions that often arise after such tragedies.

The situation in the community remains tense, as residents continue to demand accountability. As the investigation unfolds, authorities will likely have to navigate not only the details of the child’s tragic death but also the broader social tensions that have been exposed. The community’s frustration with the spaza shops and their foreign owners remains a focal point of anger, but it is yet to be seen how this will be addressed in the days ahead.

The death of the child and the subsequent violence underscore the need for both better regulation of food safety and more peaceful avenues for addressing grievances within communities. Until then, the situation in the area remains under close watch as authorities continue their investigations.
