Background & Job Description

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), in collaboration with the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA), invites unemployed South African youth to apply for the NYDA Learnership Programme for 2025.

This initiative aims to empower individuals aged 18–35 across all nine provinces – North West, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Gauteng, Limpopo, Northern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, and Mpumalanga – with relevant industry skills in Automotive Car Parts Sales and Marketing.

The programme is designed to provide hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge, culminating in a nationally recognised NQF Level 4 qualification that will boost employability and open career pathways within the automotive and retail sectors.

Tasks

Participants in the NYDA Learnership Programme will:

Learn customer service techniques and strategies within the automotive parts industry
Understand marketing and sales principles applicable to the automotive sector
Gain experience in parts inventory management
Learn how to use point-of-sale and inventory software systems
Participate in team-based learning activities and community engagement initiatives
Develop professional workplace skills including communication, time management, and business ethics

Qualifications

To be eligible for this learnership opportunity, applicants must:

Be a South African citizen
Be between the ages of 18 and 35
Possess a certified Matric certificate
Have a certified copy of a valid South African ID
Be unemployed at the time of application
Have never participated in any learnership programme before
Be available for the full duration of the 12-month programme
Submit certified documents that are not older than 6 months

Experience

No prior work experience is required. This programme is specifically designed to accommodate first-time learners and unemployed youth with no previous formal training or learnership participation. Candidates will be equipped with both practical and theoretical skills necessary to thrive in the automotive sales and marketing environment.
