Close family sources have confirmed that the actress, who has been portraying a character with lupus, is actually living with the disease herself. Her departure is expected to happen very soon as she prioritizes her health and well-being.
Nombulelo, 32, hails from Pongola, KwaZulu Natal, and has built an impressive career in South African television. She first gained widespread recognition on Durban Gen as nurse Sne Mtshali and has since starred in Uzalo, Skeem Saam, Ifalakhe, and recently in the Netflix series UMJOLO. Currently, she shines as MaDlomo, a rural wife navigating city life, earning accolades for her compelling performance.
In addition to acting, Nombulelo is a versatile musician with classical and opera training, having studied Performance Art at the American Academy of Dramatic Art in Los Angeles, Workshop Theatre in New York, and music at Ekhaya Multi-Arts Centre in KwaMashu. She has also collaborated with DJ Exclusive Drum on the song “Sixakekile” featuring Mpumi Mzobe. Over the years, she has received awards such as Best Actress Southern, Eastern Africa and Best Actress Africa at the Zikomo Africa Awards in 2023, solidifying her status as one of Mzansi’s most talented entertainers.
