‘No pay, no job’: Makhadzi ‘turns down’ R150 000 gig..
Makhadzi is making headlines after reportedly turning down a gig because the amount was less than expected.
With an illustrious career spanning years, Makhadzi has fast become one of the most sought-after stars and has wowed many with her energetic performances.
MAKHADZI REPORTEDLY TURNS DOWN R150 000 GIG
Since being thrust into the limelight, she has headlined several shows across the globe and shared the stage with some of the biggest acts in the entertainment industry.
However, she has managed to keep her bookings under wraps, leaving many to guess about her booking fees.
The celebrated dancer is making headlines after reportedly turning down R150 000 after being booked.
Despite being the face of the Phalaphala Royal Heritage Festival over the years, Makhadzi won’t be part of this year’s celebrations, as the two failed to find common ground.
Rumour mill has it that the star singer has since set the record straight that she won’t be part of the festival.
However, many were more than convinced she was dragging the show organisers because her One Woman Show was scheduled for the same day as the festival.
Reports show that the festival had no fixed budget, leaving Makhadzi insecure. Over the years, she has been considered one of the most booked stars.
Rumour has it that her booking fees are at least R200 000, depending on the season and event. However, she has been said to be one of the most affordable acts and always honours her gigs.
Last year, she hogged headlines when she was paid R500 000 for a show in the United Kingdom.
NO PAY, NO JOB
Against the news that has since thrust her into top trends, Makhadzi has shared her side of the story.
Makhadzi revealed that the festival’s organisers don’t have a fixed budget, making it difficult for her to honour the gig.
Makhadzi said, “I am not going to Phalaphala Royal Heritage; they say they don’t have a budget.
“I am setting the record straight so that my fans and followers shouldn’t say I intentionally refused to be there or I am becoming big-headed.”
“I realised that there were already false rumours spreading about my name in this regard. I’m still Makhadzi of the nation under the motto: no pay, no job, and vice versa,” Makhadzi added.
Makhadzi will host her One Woman Show on the same day as the fest. The show will be held in December, and tickets are almost sold out.
