Actress Brenda Ngxoli opens up about a video she posted on Instagram.
“I AM scared of life, and I fear for my daughter’s life.”
These were the emotional words of award-winning actress Brenda Ngxoli (43) after she posted a video on social media showing a heated exchange with her family member.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Brenda explained that the situation has been ongoing for some time.
“What I’m going through is something I thought I’d take to the grave. But now that I have a baby, I need to speak out. I can no longer remain silent. I fear for my life, and even more so, for my daughter’s safety. I don’t expect everyone to understand,” she said.

The actress also shared her heartbreak over the fact that the home she invested in to provide a safe space for her family has now become a place of distress.
“I no longer feel safe in my own homestead. If I can’t raise my daughter in this environment, I have no choice but to leave. My plan now is to clear my name, vacate the premises, and create a peaceful and safe environment for my kid,” she stated.
On Monday, 27 January, Brenda took to social media to share a “proof of life” video in response to the overwhelming support she received from the public.
Influencer Mandisi Tshingana spearheaded a fundraising campaign, raising over R90 000 to assist the actress.
“We started this thing of Brenda as a joke. I don’t know, now it seems we’ll reach R100k or something,” he wrote.
The renowned actress and TV personality expressed her heartfelt gratitude, revealing that she only had R400 left in her bank account at the time.

“I’m deeply thankful for the outpouring of support and donations that keep coming in. God knows I never asked for money, but He also knows I only had R400 left in my account after spending on renovations to ensure the homestead was safe for my mum and kid,” she said.
In closing, Brenda emphasised the importance of community support and credited the Nguni proverb, “Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu (loosely translated, I am because you are).”
