Msizi Shembe Reflects on the Joy of Building Memories at Metro FM

Metro FM’s Back 2 Basics show presenter Msizi Shembe is set to dazzle R&B music lovers when he performs at the Imbizo Shisanyama in Midrand on Sunday evening.

The presenter told TshisaLIVE he was looking forward to performing at the African cuisine establishment again.

“It’s not the first time I will be performing at Imbizo Shisanyama. It’s always exciting and I love performing there as the venue is about diversity and always about heritage exposure — it’s one of South Africa’s tourist attractions,” he said.

“My fans can expect nothing but the best from my set tonight, they certainly know I don’t disappoint when I’m on deck. It’s humbling music that revives and restores love. So my set is about creating great memories”.

Imbizo Shisanyama celebrated its fifth anniversary last month.

Manager Masesi Chauke said: “Our patrons should expect nothing but good vibes and music that they have been listening to on Metro FM, but they’ll also have a chance to see him (Msizi) doing his thing live. We have been looking forward to hosting one of the great legends in R&B and soul music in our Midrand branch. He is not a newcomer to our establishment. We were blessed to work with him at Busy Corner in Ebony Park.”

Msizi, who has been with the station for more than a decade and previously worked for stations such as YFM, Vuma FM and Gagasi FM, recently acquired a new time slot. “I’m adjusting pretty well. At first I had to line up my events that I’m normally booked for on weekends and work around times just before my radio slot starts.
