Mpruedie Nkosi Responds to Allegations of Being a ‘Rape Apologist’
Celebrity chef and content creator Chef Nompumelelo “Mpruedie” Nkosi has responded to the ongoing ‘rape apologist’ allegations levelled against her.
INSIDE THE ALLEGATIONS
Nompumelelo “Mpruedie” Nkosi has come forward to defend herself against claims that she was present during a sexual assault incident involving her close friend.
The accusations have been ongoing for several years now, and she has decided to finally break her silence.
In a tweet shared by @Sanelenkosixx, she said the accusations began around the time Uyinene Mrwetyana was raped and murdered.
MPRUEDIE FINALLY BREAKS HER SILENCE
The newlywed said that there was an account on X, previously known as Twitter, where victims and those who know victims of gender-based violence could out perpetrators.
After that, a fake account mentioned her name and the allegations gained momentum.
“There’s a fake account that accused me of watching my friend get beaten.
“After that incident, my friend and the alleged perpetrator both came to my defence and denied that anything like that happened,” she told her followers.
She said that the narrative then shifted from observing her friend being assaulted to her holding a door while her friend was being allegedly raped.
“After they cleared my name, another account asked why people always said Mpruedie should be unfollowed. Someone named Dineo responded, saying it was because Mprudie held the door while her friend was being raped.”
‘I WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTION’
According to her, after the allegations, everyone sided with them, and she was called all sorts of names.
She said that whenever she celebrates her wins, Nampree allegedly brings up the allegations.
“Whenever I achieve something, like buying a car or an apartment, she brings it up, saying people are congratulating an abuser,” she said.
She said she would be pursuing legal action against people spreading false rumours as a way to set an example.
“We are suffering from depression and anxiety because of all these things. So, I am going to make an example of everyone who thinks they can play with my name.
“I respect and love my job. The work I do for people comes from my heart, and I won’t let anyone ruin my reputation. I am going to take action, and there will be consequences,” she said.
