Max Lifestyle Village Makes Difficult Decision to Lay Off Staff

Could this be the fall of the famous Durban Shisanyama, Max Lifestyle Village? The establishment has made headlines after it laid off over 20 staff members, leaving many people concerned.

Surprisingly, this comes after the owner, Max Mqadi, stepped down to let his daughter, Zinhle, take over the business.

MAX LIFESTYLE VILLAGE RETRENCHES WORKERS
However, according to reports, staff members have been home for over a week. The media has since established that the retrenchment was due to financial constraints.

Speaking to ZiMoja, one of Max Lifestyle’s retrenched staff members said, “Sidiliziwe. They say there are no customers, and the business is not making money.”

The staff member added, “There are over 20 staff members left. We have been home since last week, not knowing what the future holds.”

He made it known that several supervisors have been let go by the once-famous Shisanyama.

Since its establishment, Max Mqadi has been the face of the joint he owns. He pulled off some of the best white parties, which quickly became the signature of Max Lifestyle Village.

However, Zinhle has since confirmed the news with the media. She said, “Every business has its hurdles, but we will recover. This is part of business.’

Over the years, several celebrities, including MaMkhize and Somizi, have made the joint their playground thanks to their close relationship with Max Mqadi.

NEW MANAGEMENT?
Last year, Max Mqadi stepped down as the Chief Executive Officer of the establishment after escaping death by a whisker at the joint.

Unknown gunmen opened fire at Max while outside the establishment, and this saw her daughter running the show in his absence.

However, Max Mqadi went on to confirm that her daughter was the new CEO of the establishment.

“After spending the whole year away from my business, I have decided to allow my daughter to take charge.

“She has been running this establishment ever since my shooting. I want to break boundaries by allowing my daughter to run my establishment full-time,” he said.

The celebrated businessman also expressed confidence that the establishment would thrive under his daughter’s leadership, making it known that he was spreading his wings to farming.
