Mashonisa’s Sassa cards secret stash exposed!
A SUSPECTED mashonisa arrested with Sassa cards in Ekurhuleni raid on Friday, 28 March.
Police received a tip-off from an anonymous source that somebody is selling liquor without a licence and also lending money to people without authorisation.
Ekurhuleni district police spokeswoman Captain Neldah Sekgobela said their members acted swiftly and went to a house at Magagula Heights, near Zonkizizwe, where the suspect was found.
Documents discovered in raid
Upon searching the house, the police discovered bundles of identity books, smart cards, driver’s licences, passports, and Sassa cards from various banks.
“The suspect stated that he kept the cards and identity books as surety until he was paid the lent money.

A resident told Daily Sun that the mashonisa is known to the community.
“He gives loans to the community, from Magagula Heights, Zonkizizwe and Katlehong, and often charges very high interest and uses threats, intimidation and violence if repayments are not made,” she said.
