Man Fatally Shot Over Cellphone in White City, Inanda

In a tragic incident earlier today (Sunday), an unidentified man was shot and killed in White City, Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal, during a robbery.

The Phoenix Operations Centre of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received reports of the shooting at approximately 07:32 AM. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene on Mbuso Shangase Road, where they discovered the victim’s lifeless body. The man had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and right hand.

According to witnesses, the assailant, acting alone, approached the victim and brandished a firearm, demanding his cellphone. When the victim refused to comply, the suspect opened fire, fatally wounding him. After the shooting, the attacker seized the cellphone and fled the scene on foot.

Authorities are still working to establish the victim’s identity. Investigations are ongoing as law enforcement seeks to track down the suspect.
