MaMkhize Faces Mounting Troubles, Including Debt to Ex-Chiefs Player

Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize, the flamboyant Royal AM owner, owes a former Kaizer Chiefs star a lot of money on top of her crippling SARS bill.

MaMkhize owes ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Nurkovic
Royal AM have yet to settle their R12 million debt to former striker Samir Nurkovic. According to SABC Sport, the Pietermaritzburg-based outfit was ordered to pay the former Kaizer Chiefs striker a two-year contract in full by FIFA to him and his lawyers, with interest accrued included. This bill is added to her ongoing issues with SARS.

32-year-old Nurkovic, now with SuperSport, moved to Royal AM on a free transfer in July 2022. However, the club terminated his contract after just three months. According to reports, the Serbian wasn’t paid a cent during his time there.

Kaizer Chiefs hijack Sundowns’ top target
According to Soccer-Laduma, Chiefs have made a R15 million offer to sign reported Sundowns target Feisal Salum from Azam FC.

“The club has taken the proposal by assistant coach Cedric Kaze very seriously concerning the need to sign Tanzanian midfielder Feisal Salum from Azam FC and that is why they have made an offer. For now, I can tell you that it’s not in the region of around R30 million that the club asked for the player when Sundowns inquired about him but it’s a good offer from Chiefs who have a tight budget at the moment. It will all depend on the other conditions and clauses in the proposal which could motivate Azam to consider what Chiefs have put on the table,” said a source.

Chiefs’ Christmas wishlist
Chiefs reportedly want to sign marquee players in central midfield, wide attacking areas and a central striker who can score goals. Foremost among those is Tanzanian playmaker Feisal Salum. According to The Citizen, Amakhosi have the funds to out-bid Azam and offer him improved terms. However, Chiefs face a tough stage of negotiations if they want to lure the midfielder away from his homeland. The attacking midfield maestro scored 19 goals last term.
