Lucky turns the dial at Jacaranda FM!

Radio personality Lucky Du Plessis has joined Jacaranda FM. Lucky will take over the 7am to 10am timeslot on Saturdays and Sundays with his show “Weekends with Lucky”.

The presenter was previously at East Coast Radio in Umhlanga, KZN, and this is his first gig with a commercial radio station. Lucky said he was happy to be back on radio doing what he does best: storytelling.

“As an art director, I learned to connect with emotions. I crafted my storytelling skills through stand-up comedy, which taught me how to turn life’s toughest moments into laughter.

“When I finally stepped into radio, it became the perfect space to bring all these elements together. Storytelling is my greatest passion, and I’m beyond excited to share this love with the incredible Jacaranda FM community,” he said.

The station’s interim Managing Director, Vuyani Dombo, expressed his excitement about Lucky joining the station.

“Lucky embodies Jacaranda FM’s bilingual essence, seamlessly blending English and Afrikaans through entertainment, music, and authentic connection with our listeners.

“His energetic personality will bring a fresh perspective to our weekend lineup, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him,” Vuyani said.

Lucky will replace Barney Simon, who will now host Sunday evenings from 6pm to 9pm.
