It is confirmed that President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation today (Sunday 25 July 2020) on the way forward as the 14-day lockdown that was implemented is coming to an end.

Take note that these are the extended days of lockdown after there were no changes to the first initial 14 days of lockdown.

Looking at the number of confirmed new cases on the 24th of April and also the number of deaths due to Covid-19, it is advisable for the president to implement a level 5 lockdown as a way of fighting this deadly virus that is taking away our lives. See the photo below for the Covid-19 statistics on the 24th of July 2021:

The total number of new cases is 69 488.Level 5: All Schools Closed, Alcohol Ban, No Interprovincial travel, Soldiers in the streets-Opinion 2

The total number of deaths was 413.

This all happens within 24 hours on level 4. That is why I suggest that the coin should be moved to a level where all schools will be closed.

Take note that schools will open on the 26th of July, which is tomorrow. The majority of learners are not aware of the effects of this deadly virus. They will find themselves playing at school without wearing their musks. Some will even go on to exchange their masks. That is why I say schools must be closed, because by opening school, children will bring the virus back home.Level 5: All Schools Closed, Alcohol Ban, No Interprovincial travel, Soldiers in the streets-Opinion 3

In the past few days, we have seen many alcohol companies complaining about the losses they made throughout this lockdown. They are challenging the authorities to lift the ban on alcohol. We understand that they are making a loss, but money can be recovered. A lost life will never be regained. The alcohol ban should continue as we can see that yesterday’s stats were really bad.Level 5: All Schools Closed, Alcohol Ban, No Interprovincial travel, Soldiers in the streets-Opinion 4

During the announcement of level 4, the president announced that interprovincial travel was not permitted if it was not for business or work, but people were still going in and out of the province as there were no strict laws. For example, we saw Carl Niehaus and Ace Magashule in Kwazulu Natal during the # FreeZuma protest, but their homes are in Gauteng. Level 5 should be implemented with strict traffic officers to ensure that there is no interprovincial travel taking place.

People are no longer complying with Covid-19 rules and regulations. SANDF must be appointed to ensure that there’s no unnecessary roaming in the streets like in the first lockdown.Level 5: All Schools Closed, Alcohol Ban, No Interprovincial travel, Soldiers in the streets-Opinion 6

With all that, I say level 5 lock with all schools closed, alcohol ban, no interprovincial travel, and military in the streets should be implemented.
