‘I wanted to try something new’: ‘Scandal!’s’ newest addition, Kwenzo Ngcobo says he’s been a fan of the soapie for many years.
Talented actor Kwenzo Ngcobo who recently secured a role in Scandal! says he’s been a fan of the show for years.
KWENZO NGCOBO: ‘THIS IS EXCITING’
The award-winning actor Kwenzo Ngcobo tells Sowetan he’s excited to join the soapie as he’s been a fan for many years.
“This is exciting. I’ve been a fan of Scandal! for many years and to be honest, I just wanted to try something new. The show is known for great storytelling, and I knew it would help sharpen my craft and growth as an actor.”
The actor adds that he feels honoured to join a show and he began shooting for the role in July.
“Some of the cast members are people that I know. One is from my hometown… so, I didn’t feel displaced. I also treat my time on set as I would any. I usually grasp and learn as much as I can from my storyline and colleagues.”
The former The Wife will debut on the soapie in August as Nhloso Gasa. He is the second star to join the soapie after Londeka Sishi who will play the role of Busisiwe.

‘SCANDAL!’ AIRS SEVEN DAYS
TVSA reports that e.tv recently announced that its soapie, Scandal! now plays seven days a week on.
The show began airing on Saturdays and Sundays, 13 and 14 July at 19:30 after declined viewership.
The show which used to be number one on e.tv lost mover 1 million viewers when Skeem Saam changed to the 19:30 timeslot in March.
Scandal! is currently third place on e.tv with 3.2 million viewers, according to The Broadcasting Research Council of South Africa’s (BRCSA) June figures.
