Khanyi Mbau slams Beyonce’s ‘Lion King’ role – She messed up the Film

It’s like something is off here, maybe the lions look too real for voice overs And I know Nala is Beyoncé but it sounds very Beyoncé. It’s so distracting 🤣 pic.twitter.com/78ffne34Ap

While her voice acting may have drawn criticism, her singing (which can never be questioned) appeared to make up for it when she released a song steeped in African culture, titled Spirit

The single, which features on the upcoming Soundtrack, adopts some kiSwahili lyrics and is part of The Lion King: The Gift album.

On her contribution to the soundtrack, Beyoncé described the body of music as a “love letter to Africa” when she said in a statement, “‘It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers.

“Authenticity and heart were important to me. This love letter to Africa highlights the setting of the film, rooted in African culture and wondrous narratives”

What’s your take on Beyoncé’s voice acting? Do you feel as if she “ruined” The Lion King with her contribution?
