Juelz Announces Upcoming Album and Plans for Orphanage Visits
Kwaito singer Juelz is heading back to the studio.
Juelz, real name Shahriar Chowdhury, is gearing up to release his upcoming studio album and has a wish list from top South African artists.
“I am set to release my album at the end of October. I have submitted it to be mastered for clear good sound. I’ve collaborated with a few upcoming artists, and at the moment I’m engaging with some top artists to do a remix on two of my songs on this album”, he said.
In the past Juelz has collaborated with Emtee and Sjava, but the songs weren’t released.
“Towards the launch of my album I’ll also be visiting the orphans and try to donate food parcels as I can relate to what they’re going through as orphans, and again in December will be looking to donate Christmas gifts,” Juelz said.
In July, Juelz welcomed the appointment of Patriotic Alliance leader Gayton McKenzie as sports, arts and culture minister.
“He sounds like a man of his word. He should assist in promoting upcoming artists to get money to survive. Otherwise, the music mafia will control this industry and talent will run away from what they love,” the singer said.
“Gayton has tasted the entertainment scene when he used to co-own ZAR with Kenny Kunene. Both of them know the day-to-day struggles of being an artist in this country, so I have faith in him that we as artists won’t cry no more, our demands will be met.”
