Jub Jub’s Uyajola 9/9 Salary Figures Spark Debate: R500k or R180k?
Jub Jub, the host of the popular reality TV show *Uyajola 9/9*, is making headlines after reportedly parting ways with Moja Love, the channel that has been his home for several years. The news of his resignation, which first surfaced last week through *Sunday World*, has since been confirmed, with leaked emails between Jub Jub and the channel now circulating online.
In these emails, Jub Jub expressed his frustrations with the work environment at Moja Love, alleging that he faced verbal and emotional abuse, particularly from the channel’s CEO, Aubrey Tau. He described his experience as being treated “like a sewer rat” and claimed that despite raising his concerns with the channel, no action was taken to improve his situation. In one of the leaked letters, Jub Jub wrote:
“After careful consideration, the reasons for my resignation are as follows: The verbal and emotional abuse in the work environment from the CEO himself. Continuous threats about losing my job.”
Aubrey Tau, the CEO of Moja Love, responded to Jub Jub’s resignation by acknowledging some of the grievances but also criticized the host for being “ungrateful,” “dishonest,” and “super arrogant.” Tau highlighted that the channel had supported Jub Jub during his difficult times, including paying for his legal fees during his recent legal battle over serious charges of rape, which reportedly amounted to over R1 million.
The fallout between Jub Jub and Moja Love has sparked significant public interest, particularly regarding his salary. While earlier reports suggested that Jub Jub was earning a hefty R500,000 per month, the leaked emails indicate that his actual salary was over R180,000 per month.
This latest development has left fans and viewers of *Uyajola 9/9* speculating about the future of the show and Jub Jub’s next move. The controversy surrounding his departure from Moja Love has added another layer to the ongoing drama in South Africa’s entertainment industry.
