A devastating incident has shaken the community of Zwelisha in KwaZulu Natal, where four-year-old Jeremiah Xolo was tragically shot and killed by an unknown suspect. This senseless act of violence has left family, friends, and the community reeling, seeking answers and justice.

On October 28, 2024, at approximately 21:31, the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Center received multiple calls for assistance, reporting a child shot in the head and unresponsive. Multiple Reaction Officers were expedited to the scene, where they found Jeremiah with a gunshot wound to the head. Despite efforts, he was declared deceased.

Eyewitness Accounts

Jeremiah’s father explained that his wife and child were standing near a local tuckshop when a white car drove by, and the child suddenly fell to the ground, bleeding profusely from the head. The mother, visibly traumatized, informed Officers that no gunshot was heard, leading her to believe a silencer was used.

Witnesses nearby confirmed that no gunshots were heard but saw the child fall. The suspects fled the scene in a white light motor vehicle, leaving behind a trail of devastation.

Investigation

The police are urging anyone with information to come forward. RUSA Officers have attended to four murders in 24 hours, highlighting the alarming rate of violence in the region.
