Gospel singer’s daughter passes matric!
GOSPEL singer Ayanda Shange is proud of his daughter for passing her matric.
Nandi Mchunu (18) matriculated at M.H.Joosub Technical Secondary School in Lenasia, south of Joburg with a Bachelor’s pass.
Nandi is Ayanda’s niece, but her dad died while she was young, and Ayanda assumed the role of a father.
Ayanda and Nandi spoke to Daily Sun about her finally finishing high school.
“Oh, I’m over the moon, especially knowing how hard my daughter worked. She was panicking.
“Plus, my wife and I were on her case, always reminding her that to secure her future, the key is getting her matric first. But I knew she was going to pass because we believe in hard work more than anything,” she said.
Nandi said it was a challenging year, but she feels proud of herself for getting through it.
“I’m blessed with a family that is supportive and prayerful. My support structure, prayer and consistent hard work made it possible to pass. Though it was challenging, I’m grateful to my grandparents, aunts, my mother and bab’omncane (Ayanda Shange) for assuming the role of a father when I lost mine at a very young age,” she said.
Nandi’s next move is to be a doctor.
“I love medicine, and I want to study to be a doctor, a cardiologist, to be precise. I’m looking forward to this new adventure, and I’m grateful to God and my family for helping me achieve all my goals. Congratulations to the matrics of 2024,” she said.
Ayanda said they will support her dream.
“She’s always wanted to be a doctor. We will help her achieve that dream, so that she can be the doctor of the family,” Ayanda said while laughing.
