Gogo Maweni Denies Arrest Claims: “This is False!”
THE Traditional Healers Organisation (THO) says it distances itself from a recent social media campaign implying that the organisation is throwing its weight behind Gogo Maweni.
A poster circulating online, using the THO logo unauthorised, suggests that the organisation endorses a call for support of Makgotso Mofokeng-Mgube (38), popularly known as Gogo Maweni.
“This is categorically false,” said THO in a statement.
“THO has attempted to contact the individual responsible for the poster, but the contact information is unavailable.”
THO warned that the unauthorised use of their logo is a serious offence. “We strongly warned members of the sector against this practice,” they said.

The healers’ organisation said individual members wishing to support Gogo Maweni in court this coming Monday can do so, but they must not use the name of the organisation or wear THO regalia.
Gogo Maweni, who’s behind the bars, appeared in the Protea Magistrates Court in Soweto on Monday, 20 January. She’ll make her second court appearance on Monday, 27 January.
She’s facing a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after she allegedly assaulted a relative of her ex-boyfriend.
