Durban July date and theme revealed!
HOLLYWOODBETS Durban July announces the 2025 date and theme.
The countdown to the 129th Hollywoodbets Durban July has begun as this year’s date and theme are revealed.
This year’s Durban July is set to take place on Saturday, 5 July at the iconic Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse in Durban. The theme is “Marvels of Mzansi”.
This popular African horse racing and social spectacular, which dates back 128 years, has become a must-attend event for many celebrities.
Event organisers said this year’s theme celebrates Mzansi’s rich heritage, cultural diversity, and breathtaking landscapes, paying tribute to the nation’s extraordinary achievements.
Hollywood Group spokeswoman Zandile Dlamini told Daily Sun they regard themselves as a proudly Mzansi business with a global outlook.
“Mzansi is our home, and we seek to ensure we make a positive difference in everything we do. We are in the business of bringing smiles to people’s faces.
“This is why the theme stands out from previous ones. It speaks to the heart of South Africa,” she said.
She said this year’s racing extravaganza promises an iconic line-up of Mzansi talent, featuring a diverse array of artists.
“The national anthem will be beautifully performed by one of the country’s leading songstresses. Look out for the reveal in May.
“With these performances, thousands of attendees expected at Hollywoodbets Greyville will have a memorable experience,” she said.
Before the main event there will be the Hollywoodbets Durban July Young Designers award presented by Durban Fashion Fair, where top fashion designers and creatives will be showcasing their unique interpretation of the theme.
For the past few years, the Durban July has shared the theme reveal with KZN top fashion schools.
Students will compete for a share of the R150 000 cash prize which goes towards their bursaries.
