Duduzile Ngcobo Becomes Part of House of Zwide

Acclaimed actress Duduzile Ngcobo is set to make her debut on the eTV drama series House of Zwide, playing the role of Soka’s grandmother (Gogo) starting September 16, 2024.

Soka’s grandma arrives at Soka’s apartment, only to find his girlfriend Mampho there. The tension is palpable as she demands to see her grandson, Soka. But things take a dramatic turn when she questions Soka about his intentions with Mampho – is he planning to marry her, or is he just living with her?

The upcoming scenes set for a classic clash of cultures and generations, as Gogo Soka’s traditional values collide with Soka’s modern relationship. Will Soka stand up to his grandmother’s demands, or will he cave under the pressure?

With a career spanning over two decades, Ngcobo has established herself as a talented and versatile actress. She began her professional acting career at the age of 49 in the Mzansi Magic serial Quantum of Terror and later landed her first lead role in the soapie Isithembiso.

Ngcobo’s extensive credits include supportive roles in Ikhaya S2, Greed and Desire, and a stint as “Ma-Mbatha” in the soapie Muvhango. She has also appeared in the serial Scam, television movies Umqhele and Umdalo Wempilo, and Mzansi Magic films Umdalo Wempilo and Uthando Lwethu.

In 2019, Ngcobo played the role of “Mayor” in the DSTV serial EHostela, showcasing her range and depth as a performer.

In 2020, she joined with the e.tv. medical telenovela Durban Gen and played the lead role “Dr. Qwabe”. Apart from that, she appeared in many commercials for the brands; Dettol, ABSA, DSTV, MTN, TASTIC and FN.

In 2021, she returned to the soapie Uzalo and reprised her role. In the meantime, she served as the national coordinator for National Union of Mineworkers of HIV AIDS desk in South Africa.
