DJ Maphorisa said “some respect”

Maphorisa Wants People To Respect Him

DJ Maphorisa wants the country to put some respect on his name and he deserves it because he is a big deal!

His work over the past years has been highly recognized and praised. He’s kept us dancing in the clubs and dominated the charts. South African music wouldn’t be the same right now without DJ Maphorisa!

The past year had people raving over Maphorisa and Kabza De Small’s collaborative albums and how they dominated the Amapiano wave. Once again, proving his versatility and how much of a big deal he is. Despite this though, there were moments when he was criticised for being a culture vulture and exploiting Kabza De Small.

He did an interview with Zikhiphani where he shares some stories of people ‘who do not know him.’ In the short clip, Lawd Of Hits says he understands where the disrespect comes from because some people only know him now. Completely oblivious to the fact that his career spans for almost a decade. Phori says that he has to continuously remind people of who he is.

The Scorpion King has always been vocal about his success and how good he is at what he does as a producer. Having produced for big names in the continent, he asked naysayers to name any other producer better than him.

“No Label would say No to me. Trust I am the Greatest Probably The First To Do It In South Africa. If I am Lying Tag him. 34 Hits n Still Counting,” he tweeted.

There has been some criticism that followed Maphorisa who was accused of sabotaging Kabza. Many trolls have claimed that Maphorisa to be a big name that he is today because of Kabza. Disrespecting him further by saying he cannot make a hit without Kabza.

AKA came to his defense and called him a G.O.A.T (Greatest of all time). Saying that Phori has been making hits since Uhuru.
