The Discovery Health GAU Service Team is inviting applications for a structured Learnership Programme in Long Term Insurance, which leads to a nationally recognised FETC: Long Term Insurance NQF Level 4 qualification. The programme combines academic training with practical workplace exposure, equipping learners with the knowledge and experience necessary to thrive in the professional world.
About Senral or what is senral
Senral refers to the broader Discovery Central Services business unit under which this learnership falls. This centralised service arm of Discovery plays a vital role in supporting various functions across the organisation, enabling client servicing, administration, and operational efficiency. It ensures consistent service delivery across departments and serves as the backbone for business functions that interact directly with Discovery’s diverse customer base.
Minimum Requirements:
- Completed Grade 12 (Matric certificate is essential)
- Achieved the following minimum academic results:
- English: Level 4 (50% and above)
- Maths: Level 4 (50% and above)
- Maths Literacy: Level 5 (60% and above)
- Second language: Level 4 (50% and above)
- Basic computer literacy in MS Excel and MS Outlook
- Must not be studying or employed full-time
- Must not have completed any previous learnerships
- Between the ages of 18 and 25
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written in English)
- Incomplete tertiary qualification will be considered as an advantage
Role Responsibility:
This learnership position is focused on building professional skills in the Financial Services environment, specifically within the Long Term Insurance sector. Learners will be integrated into various service areas within Discovery Health, including:
- Medical aid client servicing
- Claims processing
- New business support
- Health benefits administration
The role will provide hands-on exposure to real business operations, enabling learners to understand client needs, process service requests, and work within a customer-focused environment.
