• Assist customers at checkout with friendly, professional service
• Process payments using Dis-Chem’s point-of-sale system (cash, cards, vouchers, coupons, and loyalty rewards)
• Maintain accuracy in all transactions and ensure the till drawer balances at all times
• Handle product exchanges and refunds as authorised
• Follow company procedures for voids, price changes, and product returns
• Maintain awareness of current promotions and store activities
• Report all customer concerns, complaints, and compliments to management
• Adhere to the hourly customer turnover target
• Apply Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles to daily interactions
• Practice strict confidentiality and security of all cash-related processes
• Ensure only your code/password is used and updated regularly
• Assist customers with inquiries regarding merchandise
• Support team efforts to uphold health and safety protocols and prevent stock loss

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate
• Computer literacy, particularly MS Office
• Excellent numerical ability
• Proficiency in written and spoken English

• At least 6 months of experience in cashier/till operations
• Familiarity with retail systems and processes
• Advantageous: Knowledge of an additional South African language
