Cyan Boujee Shows Off Stunning Weight Loss Journey After Surgery
Cyan Boujee, real name Honour Zuma, has been on a weight-loss journey since undergoing gastric sleeve surgery six months ago.
According to the Mayo Clinic, gastric sleeve surgery is a weight-loss procedure where about 80% of the stomach is removed. This restricts the amount of food one is able to consume. The procedure prompts hormonal changes that assist with weight loss.
The controversial social media influencer and DJ, who has been open about her transformation, flew to Turkey earlier this year and spent R58,000 on the surgery.
Taking to her Instagram Stories recently, Cyan shared a striking before-and-after photo that showcases her progress.
In the before photo she weighed 92kg, as revealed in her candid YouTube video.
โI’m not that sort of influencer who is going to randomly change my body and then go to the gym, come back and say the gym is giving,โ she said.
Six months after undergoing surgery she has lost an impressive 25kg and now weighs 68kg.
She has previously mentioned her goal is to reach 65kg, naming curvy American rapper Cardi B, who also underwent surgery, as her inspiration.
Cyan also spoke about social media influencer Lungile Thabethe, sister of media personality Ayanda Thabethe, being an inspiration to her because she underwent the same surgery.
โMy goal is 60kg โ I know it’s crazy โ or at least 65kg, but that is my goal. I don’t want to be around 80kg, I don’t want to be around 90kg. I have tried to lose weight by doing every sort of thing. It didn’t work. I kept gaining. This was my last option.
โI know I’m just 22 [now 23] and I’m putting my body under much pressure, but I want to be in a space where I am genuinely happy with my body.โ
Cyan said this was the last surgery she would undergo.
