The Glamour Boys showed a glimpse of their new signings this past weekend when they defeated fiercest rivals Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup at Orlando Stadium on Sunday evening.

Amakhosi have roped in the likes of Sifiso Hlanti, Njabulo Ngcobo, Sibusiso Mabiliso, Kgaogelo Sekgota, Phathutshedzo Nange, Brandon Petersen, Austin Dube, Cole Alexander and marquee signing Keagan Dolly.Chiefs reportedly closing in 10th signing this week. Click to see who he is 2

With the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season to get underway later this month, Chiefs could complete the signature of talented South African youth international Sipho Mbule by no later than this week, who has been heavily linked with the club in recent weeks.

According to publication Phakaaathi, the deal could be concluded this week, though a stumbling block seemed to have dragged out negotiations.

“There are a few things that need to be sorted out but the deal looks very likely at the moment,” a source told Phakaaathi.

“But you know how these things work. It could also collapse at any moment if those involved cannot reach decisions amicably. But from what I hear, there are very few details that need to be finalized before they can seal it and make an announcement.

As things stand, it seems Chiefs are not the only suitors for the player, which means another offer for Mbule may throw a spanner in the works for Amakhosi.Chiefs reportedly closing in 10th signing this week. Click to see who he is 3

“Like any other player, Sipho wants to play for a big team. Chiefs have made a request for Mbule and the board, led by chief executive officer, Stanley Matthews, are looking at the proposal. If the money is good, he will go and the team will use it to recruit a marquee signing,” a well-placed source at SuperSport revealed.

A huge plus for the 23-year-old is that he has already worked with Chiefs head coach Stuart Baxter during his time at SuperSport, but this would also mean that Chiefs put a sizeable fee on the table for the player whose contract only ends in June 2022.
